Saif Ali Khan starring Kaalakaandi is one of the darkest comedy films in the last decade. It might have started its run with a low audience occupancy on Day 1 but still, it is not a typical Bollywood masala film.
Saif has essayed his role brilliantly with some good support by Deepak Dobriyal, Vijay Raaz, and Akshay Oberoi. This film talks about the life of the lead protagonist, who just got few months time to live due to Stomach Cancer. How he decides to live his life to the fullest in the remaining days is what followed the story.

It’s an urban dark-comedy which is meant specifically to the multiplex audience, not a single screen audience at all. Most of the dialogues in this film are in English and all the characters have played their part brilliantly.
The morning audience occupancy of this film was 9 percent. The afternoon occupancy was 9 percent. This film failed to lure the audience and got around 6 percent audience occupancy in the evening and again 8 percent occupancy in the night. So the average audience occupancy of the first day is just 8 percent. It has earned around 90 Lakhs on the Day 1.
Altogether, Kaalakaandi has a dark day at the box office on the first day.
