Home is the latest Malayalam film which released on Amazon Prime on August 19, 2021. The screen time of this family entertainer is around 2 hours 41 minutes.

Story: The story of this film revolves around Indrans aka Oliver Twist, who is a old man and his two sons are all grown up now. One Is a writer and filmmaker Sreenath Bhasi aka Antony and another one is a college goer Naslen K Gafoor aka Charles. Oliver also has a loving wife Deepa Thomas aka Priya. It can be seen than Antony stays away from his family in a rented home and wants to be a big filmmaker and writer. He is all messed up with his profession and personal life. On the other hand, Charles wants to be a big Youtuber but hardly have 500 subscribers on his channel.

Well, Antony has a big task to complete a script of his next film with in few days time but he couldn’t able to focus on it, so he decided to lands back home. Now, Oliver Twist realize that two of his sons are not talking to him at always glued themselves on mobile phones. Even, they realize that Oliver is of no worth and he haven’t done anything phenomenal in his life. This is when the cloud burst for Oliver and he now decides to pace up with the young generation and buys a new smart phone for the first time.

Now, Oliver wants to learn about video call, instagram, facebook everything but he finds it struggling even to click a single phone from a new phone. There are occasions, when he couldn’t able to cut an incoming phone call. One day, Oliver mistakenly put his phone on and Facebook live started streaming and his son Antony is being angry on the actor who rejected his script. Now, whole incident has been viral on the news media and Antony yells his father Oliver in a worst possible way. So in spite coming closer to his sons, Oliver feels that he has now gone far away with his kids after that incident. Will, Oliver able to realize his sons that he is also a brave father or will his two grown up son ever understand his worth is what this story is all about.

The early reviews of Home movie is highly positive and many have rated it in a range of 4 to 4.5 stars out of 5. This film currently holds 9.1 stars ratings out of 10 on IMDB and that’s an impressive ratings.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Home is one of those films that realize us about the importance of our family and especially our parents. The story is relatable and every father can relate to Oliver and today’s youth can relate with the characters of Antony and Charles. The big question here is, are we giving our family some time or we are just busy on our mobile phones seeking a passage for fictitious brighter future ahead. This film delicately handles many important things and gives us a great message to the viewers. This film deserves all the applaud and even awards. I feel, Oliver has given his career best performance and he deserves a National award for best actor for this, if not less. This film has been beautifully written and directed by Rojin Thomas and whole marks should given to him. Making a film with 2 hours 41 minutes screen time and making a complete entertainer is not easy but the director made it possible. The dialogues, the cinematography and music, all were at the right place and that’s why this film connected to my heart instantly. A brilliant film that shouldn’t be missed this year. After watching this film, many will start loving and respecting their parents like never before. A simple and realistic film that is the need of the hour.

Home movie has been written and helmed by Rojin Thomas, who earlier directed Philips and the Monkey Pen (2013) and Jo and the Boy (2015). In one of the interviews, Rojin mention that Home movie Oliver’s character has been inspired by his own father. This movie has been produced by Vijay Babu. The music and original score has been given by Rahul Subrahmanian and the cinematography done by Neil D’Cuncha. The editing control of this movie has been taken care by Prejish Prakash.

Home movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it could reportedly be in a range of 2 to 3 crores maximum.

Altogether, Home is one rare gem of Malayalam cinema that need to be watched an appreciated by film lovers and audience.
