Dream Girl Review: Ayushmaan Khurrana Hits The Bulls Eye In This Comedy Caper

Star Cast: Ayushmaan Khurrana, Annu Kapoor, Nushrat Barucha, Vijay Raaz

Actors Performances:

Ayushmaan Khurrana as Karam and Pooja has played the role brilliantly. There were a lot of nuances in his performance which proves that he is big actor. Nushrat Barucha as Mahi justified his role as well. They look good as a couple. Vijay Raaz as Police Inspector who is also a poet had left his impact in his short role. Annu Kapoor is the master when it comes to performances. He has outshine other actors in the film, without a doubt. There is also a dadi ji in this movie who had done a great performance. All in all, the overall performance of the actors are brilliant.

Story And Dialogues:

Karam falls in love with Nahi and wanted to marry her. On the other hand, Karam also in a need of a job to pay some of his personal loan. His father played by Annu Kapoor thinks that his son is of no use as he didn’t have a job. Finally, Karam gets a job by showing the call center owner about his voice talent to mimic a female voice. He tells him to attend night calls by pretending to be a girl Pooja. This is how the story follows and rest is roller coaster ride.

The story and dialogues of the movie has been written by Raaj Shaandilyaa, he is also the director of this movie. He has worked before in comedy show like Comedy Circus and many others as writer. He has infused all his story and dialogue writing skills in this movie. Every scene and dialogue will make you laugh and smile. No one can stop this man to make great comedy film!

Production:

In the final segment of the film, there is a color ful Mahabharata stage scene which will be loved by audience. The production sets for the songs are brilliant. The whole feel of a Typical Harynavi locations are wonderful. Most of the scenes have been shot on real locations which give lot of sense to the movie.

Music, Cinematography And Editing:

There have been 3-4 songs in the movie and they are good. Though, I can’t say that these songs will stay with you after leaving the theaters, but you will love them during the movie. The Cinematography is brilliant and the cameraman has picked the right locations which suits the mood. The movie is around 2 hrs time and it is a perfect time for this comedy film. There is not a single dull moment in the film and thanks to the brilliant writing and editing.

Direction: Raaj Shaandilyaa deserves an applause for this film. He has handled multiple departments in this movie and come out as victorious. I liked his direction style and story telling. He has a long way to go. He used Indian culture, people and locations beautifully in this story. The message of the director through this film is pretty clear, love your parents, friends and closed ones. Rather than just taking a selfie, you could also click photos with families.
