Helmed by Lipstick Under My Burkha fame Alankrita Shrivastava, this film majorly talks about female related issues. It also talks about how female is being treated in this patriarchal society. Konkana as Dolly didn’t had good married life with her husband. Despite constant efforts, Dolly couldn’t able to make her husband happy. On the other hand, her husband flirts Dolly’s sister Killy aka Bhumi.
The story of this movie is twisted but ended on a good note. This kind of story hasn’t been shown to Indian audience with such mainstream actors. It is different, unique and bold film. Produced by Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. This movie also stars Amol Parashar, Vikrant Massey, Kubbra Sait and others.
There is no Happy ending in Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare movie but still it tells the story of real life in a most realistic way. The cinematography has been done by John Jacob Payyapalli and edited by Charu Shree Roy.
Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare got good reviews from critics in a range of 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5. IMDB has rated 6 stars out of 5. The early audience response is mixed but it is encouraging. The screen time of this movie is 2 hours which is an apt one. This is not like a typical Netflix film, it is more of like a pure Bollywood masala film with emotions and songs. Still, the soul of the movie seems like missing at few times but it ends on a great note.
Makers didn’t revealed the budget of this movie but it looks reportedly around 7 to 8 easily. The early response from online for this film can be termed as an above average film. What if this film could get a theatrical release? It would have been a flop in theaters and it would have definitely got A certificate from Censor board.
