The early reviews of Chhaava movie is highly positive in a range of 3.5 to 4 Stars out of 5 stars.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: The story of this film is good and the screenplay is even better. The movie showcases us the braveness of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and how he lived his life as a warrior. The first half starts with a battle sequence and ends with family politics. The second half is a bit slow but ends on a high note. The last 30 minutes of this film takes Vicky’s performance to next level. Akshaye Khanna delivered his best as Aurangzeb as a brutal Mughal leader. I think, Rashmika came a long way as an actress here. The dialogues are superb and needs to be applauded especially in the end. I personally feel that Vicky and Vineet both were good in this movie. This movie will work in Maharashtra in a big way but same can’t be said for the rest of India. The music of A R Rehman blends well with the story. The music could have been more effective none the less. The production value is good and the movie looks superb on the big screen. The action sequences were well choreographed. You might miss Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s essence in this film still a good work by director Laxman Utekar. The filmmaker has made sure that audience felt the pain of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj and remember our freedom struggle against Mughal Empire. The only negative point I felt is in the second half and the film could have been trimmed for 10 minutes.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, the dialogues of this film have been written by Irshad Kamil and Rishi Virmani. It has been produced by Dinesh Vijan and narrated by Ajay Devgn. The cinematography has been done by Saurabh Goswami and edited by Manish Pradhan. The musical score given by A R Rahman.
Chhaava movie budget is reportedly around 128 to 130 crores. The word of mouth will be very important to recover it’s budget. But, it looks like Chhaava movie will recover it’s budget with ease.
Altogether, Chhaava is one such movie that you must witness on a big screen only. There is a big chance that this film will be a above average at the box office.
Last Word: Watch it for Vicky Kaushal, Vineet Kumar Singh and Akshaye Khanna.
