Candy is the latest OTT webseries which released on VOOT on September 8, 2021. The overall screen time of this crime thriller webseries is around 5 hours 15 minutes. There are around 8 episodes with each consisting an average screen time between 35 to 40 minutes.
Story: The story of this series revolves around Ronit Bose Roy aka Jayant Parekh, who is a teacher in Rudrakund Valley School. One fine day, his student Mihir Ahuja aka Mehul got killed and hanged in the jungles of Rudrakund. Richa Chadha aka DSP Ratna Sankhwar finds the body of Mehul and sees that his school mate Riddhi Kumar aka Kalki is also missing. On the other hand, teacher Jayant is broken by the death of his school kid Mehul and thinks that even Kalki is no more. Jayant, who has also lost his kid, were stunned by this incident. On the other hand, Ratna finds Jayant’s behavior weird at times.
Somehow, Kalki reaches Jayant’s house and reveals him about the Candies that are filled with drugs and consumed by the school mates. Apart from that, Ratna is on a look out for the murderer who killed Mehul and even killed a girl in the same way 4 years back. Many claim that, in a jungle there is monster named ‘Massaand’, who have killed Mehul. Now, Ratna is on a lookout for the culprit in Mehul’s case and will she able to find it is what this story is all about. There is a big angle of drugs in this story, will Jayant able to solve is is what you need to watch here.
This series also stars Manurishi Chadha, Gopal Dutt, Riddhi Kumar, Aditya Syal and many others.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: The story did have shocking element but still looks like a bit stretched. There are various shades in the characters of Ratna and Jayant, who are the stars of this story. The character of White Rabbit is interesting here and the actor who played it have lived up to the expectations. The story is different and unique which makes it watchable. There are lot of twist and drama in this series but the thrill element is missing quite a time. Still, its good to see the director has given something new to the platter. Richa and Ronit never fail to impress us in any of their roles and they are the core part of this series.

The budget of Candy webseries hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it could reportedly be in a range of 8 to 10 crores maximum.
Altogether, Candy web seires is a crime thriller with some horror element. It is a one time watch for the lead actors like Ronit Bose Roy and Richa Chadha.
