Boomika is a Tamil language film which released on Netflix on August 22, 2021. This film was also directly released via Star Vijay on August 22 itself. The screen time of this ecological horror-thriller is around 2 hours 2 minutes.
The story of this film revolves around a haunted teenager girl named as Boomi (Avantika Vandanapu), who stays in a big mansion and protects the big forest area. Now, Aishwarya Rajesh aka Samyuktha, Vidhu (Samyukta’s husband Gautam), Surya Ganapathy as Gayathri (Samyukta’s friend), Sindhu aka Siddhu (Samyuktha’s son) and Madhuri aka Aditi (Samyuktha’s sister-in-law) enters the mansion. Gautam visited this mansion as he wanted to develop the big forest area with the help of a minister. As the day turns dark, the ghost of Boomi started hurting them in some or other way.
Now, Samyuktha starts to dig deep to find out why the ghost of Boomi is trying to hurt people and killed few men. It was later, Samyuktha understand’s the reason behind Boomi’s suicide and wants to save his husband from the attack. Will, Samyuktha able to save her husband from the clutches of Boomi is what the story is all about.
The early reviews of Boomika movie is out now and they are mixed to positive in a range of 2 to 2.5 stars out of 5. This film currently holds 5.7 stars out of 10 on IMDB.
Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Boomika is one of those films that could have left a major impact if the message has been delivered properly. The overall story message of saving the nature and motherland is good but the makers couldn’t able to made an impact. It was like a scattered film that goes nowhere. Let me remind you, Nature and ecology are some of the most burning topics and we were expecting something new but misses here completely. Still, attempting to make something new is commendable. The green mountains and the grass field are some of the things that you would love to see. The only high point of this film is its climax and I loved it. The only highlight of this film is the performance of Avantika Vandanapu aka Boomi.
Boomika movie has been written and directed by Rathindran R. Prasad. This film has been produced by Stone Bench Films. The cinematography has been done by Roberto Zazzara. The musical score has been done by Chandrasekhar.
Boomika movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it would reportedly be around 4 to 5 crores maximum.
Altogether, Boomika is one of those films that didn’t left a major impression despite having such a good story.
