Baahubali 2 was being written by Vijayendra Prasad, who is a prominent director in the south. In one of his recent interview, he clarified that, “Chinese people have seen umpteen costume dramas like Baahubali 2 so I feel that it will not work there. Dangal became a huge success there because people connected with the women-centric plot and how a daughter fulfilled the dream of her father.”

Vijayendra Prasad view clearly states that Baahubali 2 has a lesser chance in China in terms of success. Interestingly, when Bahubali released in China in 2015, it has earned only 7 crores gross. On the other hand, Dangal has raked over 1200 crores gross in China with a long run of over 2 months.

So, this news would certainly disappoint fans of Bahubali but this is what the clear picture is. Well, we still don’t know what will happen at the box office in September. But, we could hope for a better run of Baahubali 2 in China.
