Andhaghaaram movie is the latest Tamil film that released on Netflix OTT platform on November 24, 2020. The screentime of this film is around 2 hours 51 minutes.

The story of this film is about Arjun Das aka Vinod who gets random call from a person over a landline phone who threatened him to take his life. Shockingly, the person on the call knows every minute detail about Vinod and his life. There is also a character Selvam played by Vinoth Kishan who is completely blind. He doesn’t have anyone to care for him and leads a lonely troublesome life. Selvam who knows witchcraft gets into trouble while cleansing a place from evil spirits. Both these characters have a connection to each other and that is something that you need to watch in this film. There is also a psychiatrist in this film Kumar Natarajan aka Dr. Indran, who is evil in nature and has a connection to both the above characters Selvam and Vinod. The story is full of horror and supernatural things that you must watch to believe.
I must say without a doubt that Indian cinema is in right hand of debutant director and writer of this film V Vignarajan. He stole my heart with the way he directed this film. I felt he knows the craft really well and he justifies that with this film. Making a film like this needs a clear perspective and understanding of the whole story, otherwise it won’t workout. As a director, he gives us every minute detail in this horror centric drama. Another person that deserves an applause is the cinematographer A M Edwin Sakay. He should get an award for his camera angles and detailed shots. And, the editing by Sathyaraj Natarajan of this film is topnotch, that is something that worked for me. Still, this film would have been much better if it get cut short by 15 to 20 minutes. Pradeep Kumar music gives us adrenaline rush from start to end.

Critics have praised Andhaghaaram in a big way and rated it in a range of 3 to 3.5 stars out of 5. It also received 7.9 stars rating out of 10 on IMDB.
The budget of this film hasn’t been revealed yet by the makers. By watching this film, one can predict that the budget reportedly would be in a range of 8 to 10 crores.
Altogether, Andhaghaaram is one of those films that can be given as a lesson for kids who want to learn filmmaking.
