Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, who has seen a series of 6 flops in last one year, is all set to revive his super stardom with yet another remake. Yes, we are talking about his upcoming untitled film Production No 27 which is an official remake of Tamil film Soorarai Pottru (2020) for which superstar Suriya won best actor National Award.
Now, Akshay Kumar has officially confirmed that his next remake will not be a web series but a full-fledged film for the audience. We have seen Akshay’s remake film falling apart one after another since Bachchan Pandey, Cuttputlli and latest Selfiee. Well, he have all hope now from his next big film which will be directed by Sudha Kongara.
As per the latest update, Akshay took to social media and wrote, “We are ready for take off! Production No. 27 (Untitled) releases in theatres worldwide on 1st September, 2023.”
Many will troll Akshay Kumar for his remake films but on the other hand, we see Ajay Devgn succeeding with remake films like Drishyam 2 and most probably with Bholaa. So there is definitely a hope that Akshay will thrive again with his upcoming biggie.
Apart from Akshay, the other confirmed actors are Paresh Rawal and Radhika Madan. This film is inspired by the life of Captain GR Gopinath, founder of Air Deccan. This film will be co-produced by Akshay’s mother Aruna Bhatia, Jyotika, Suriya and Vikram Malhotra.
Well, this news is big for Akshay Kumar and his fans and we hope this turn out to be a game changer for him, just like Pathaan movie did for Shah Rukh Khan. The only concern I have here is Soorarai Pottru was also released in Hindi as Udaan for the Hindi audience which is still there on Amazon Prime Video OTT platform. So why would audience will see his version of the story. Let’s hope for the best and pray that this didn’t turnout another Selfiee moment for Khiladi!
