Love Hostel is the latest Hindi movie which has officially released on OTT platform Zee5 on February 25, 2022. The screen time of this crime thriller films is around 1 hour 40 minutes.
Story: The story of this film revolves around Vikrant Massey aka Ahmed Shaukeen and Sanya Malhotra aka Jyoti Dilawar. They fall in love and decides to marry and they also know that their family won’t accept them in a cordial way. So, Ahmed and Jyoti goes all out and did a court marriage. Now, Jyoti’s grand mother Swaroopa Ghosh aka MLA Kamala Dilawar hires Bobby Deol aka Viraj Singh Dagar, who is wanted criminal, to kill Ahmed and bring back Jyoti. Will, Ahmed and Jyoti, who got a temporary stay at a Hostel by the court, able to get away with Dilawar is what this story is all about. This story is set in the heartlands of Haryana.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: This story based in the villages of Haryana where marrying to some other caste is still not being kindly accepted. This is a sad story of the lovers Ahmed and Jyoti who is being hunt by a menacing Dagar. The presentation of this film is non-filmy which means it is real and ruthless. The start might be promising for you but the ending is not a happy go lucky way. The makers did made this story in a unique way and the ending might not be liked by all. Still, the characters of Ahmed, Jyoti and Dagar surprise you in different ways. Bobby Deol is totally on a rampage here and he will surprise you in a big way. His ruthless and non-emotional character will remind you of few Hollywood film characters like Javier Bardem aka Anton Chigurh from No Country from Old Men (2007) and Keanu Reeves aka John Wick from John Wick movie (2014). Bobby did lot of homework here for the role and he is the apt cast. Even, Vikrant and Sanya have given their best roles. The screenplay seems fizzle out after one hour and then we starts loosing interest in the movie. The core message of this film is very clear to say a lot about old customs and traditions of the rural areas, where you should marry as per your family wish. If you don’t than your family might not accept you in any case. I also liked when the makers shift gear and showed the reality of the lovers who run from their home and stay at a temporary basis on a hostel provided by the local court for their safety. The writing is ok and it could been better. The production value is good the feel of this movie is true to its story. The are hardly few songs in this film which wasn’t even needed. The director has surprised us with its story presentation but he fails to give an major impact overall.

This movie have been produced by Gauri Khan, Manish Mundra, Gaurav Verma. The cinematography has been handled by Vivek Shah and the musical score given by Clinton Cerejo. The editing work have been done by Nitin Baid and Shah Mahammed.
Love Hostel movie budget hasn’t been revealed by the makers but it could reportedly been around 8 to 10 crores maximum.
Altogether, Love Hostel is a decent attempt from the makers to tell the love story in a realistic and non filmy way.
