1. Remake:

Hum Aapke Hain Koun is the unofficial remake of their own film Nadiya Ke Paar released in 1982 featuring Sachin Pilgaonkar and Sadhana Singh. Hum Aapke Hain Koun was also remade in Telugu with a name Premalayam.

2. Box Office:

Made with around 10 crores budget, HAHK has collected 79.98 crores nett and 121.95 crores gross. In overseas it has collected 11.02 crores, as per box office India. From 1994 to 1996, this film has reportedly collected around 200 crores. If we adjust the inflated figure as per today than the collections would reportedly be $ 109 million – 768 crores. It is also touted that this film has unofficially being considered the first film to rake 100 crores at Indian Box office.

3. Songs:

This film has 14 songs collectively out of which 11 songs were sung by Legendary Lata Mangeshkar. One of the songs Didi Tera Deewar Deewana has remained top chartbuster songs of the year. This particular song reportedly adapted from Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Saare Nabian. The sound track of this film is considered as the fourth seller in the 90s era. Around 12 million units of the song has been sold.

4. Awards:

Hum Aapke Hain Koun went on to win 5 filmfare awards including Best Actress, Best Film and Best Director. It also won the National Award for providing wholesome entertainment.

5. HAHK Making Time:

Director Sooraj Barjatya has spent 21 months to write the script of the film and overall the film took 4 years from scripting till releasing.

6. Salary:

Both Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit got hefty salary in this film. Well, Salman’s salary is not known but Madhuri Dixit has received 2.75 crores for playing her character Nisha. As, Madhuri Dixit was a very popular actress back then with hits like Teezab, Saajan etc.

7. Aamir Khan Rejected:

At a time, when films didn’t even run for a week or two, Hum Aapke Hain Koun had a glorious run of over 100 weeks in Liberty Cinema in Mumbai. Even, the film worked well in Eros and Regal Cinema. Interestingly, 74 lakhs tickets were sold of Hum Aapke Hai Kaun.

9. Few Critics called it a Flop!

We call Hum Aapke Hain Koun as a cult film but back than there were few critics who termed this film as a flop. Many of them said that this film has 14 songs and a runtime of 3 hours 26 minutes. Even, the makers have omitted two songs from the film in the first few screening. Later, due to audience demand the omitted songs were again placed in the film and audience have loved this film in a big way.

10. Film Prints and Theaters Screens:

29 film prints were released in first week. Later, due to heavy demand the prints were reached to 521. From 1994 to 1996, this film was released in 3332 theaters.
