Story And Dialogues:

The film talks about the controversial death of India’s second prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri. Whether he died due to heart attack or it was a pre-planned murder is the topic of this series film. I personally liked the film as it reminds me of 12 Angry Men (1957). The actors in the film are its strength that also comprises of Mandira Bedi, Pankaj Tripathi, Pallavi Joshi and many others. The dialogues of Mithun da just before the climax is brilliant. Shweta Basu’s dialogues in the climax scenes have won my heart.

Acting Performances: Before taking about Naseer or Mithun da, I personally felt that Shweta Basu Prasad has justified her role where she played a political journalist. In the film, she took an assignment to reveal the truth behind the controversial death of Lal Bahadur Shastri. Another best performance came from Mithun Chakraborty, followed by Naseerudin Shah and others.

Production: The major part of the film set in a room where 8-9 people from different fields come together to talk about the controversial demise of Lal Bahadur Shastri. I personally liked the attire of Naseer sir and Mithun da.

Music, Cinematography And Editing: The background score adds enough support to this strong story. The cinematography is a decent one but I enjoyed when the lens captured the Tashkent area of Russia. The editing is tight and crisp, which was necessary for a film like this.

Direction: Vivek Agnihotri has took up a subject like this tells enough about his concerns for India and its cinema. Many called his film that is it targeting a particular party or propaganda but ultimately it is just a film. Mr Agnihotri has took certain liberty to tell a story but It is a connecting one.
