Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Mortal Kombat started on a good note but in the middle the story drifted away and did ended on a high note. A film that is low on emotions and high on VFX. The action quotient is there but is not enough as compare to Mortal Kombat (1995). You can consider this film as a reboot version as the villain leader says that he will be back soon with his new warriors to fight against the earth members. That means Mortal Kombat 2 is definitely on the cards. This film is flat and not has an official tournament like it had in the 90s film. The fight sequence in the first 10 minutes was best. The last 15 minutes climax scenes again take this film on the next level. Still, the dragging screenplay and weak story spoil the show. This is not a worth contender of Mortal Kombat original film at all. The legacy of original Mortal Kombat seems to be tarnished with this shoddy reboot version. The soil of this film seems to be missing or it would have been a good film to watch.

Mortal Kombat has been directed by Simon McQuoid. It has been produced by New Line Cinema, Broken Road Productions and Atomic Monster Productions. The story of this film has been written by Oren Uziel and Greg Russo. The screenplay work have been done by Greg Russo and Dave Callaham. The cinematography work has been done by Germain McMicking. The editing work taken care by Dan Lebental and Scott Grey.

Mortal Kombat budget is being reportedly around USD 95 to 100 million ( 712 – 749 crores). This film didn’t grossed well in theaters as per expectations.

Altogether, Mortal Kombat is one of those action films that completely falls flat as compare to its original part.

Last word: Watch it only for some high octane action scenes and great VFX work. Neither the story or nor the performance are up to the mark.

Bollywood Crazies Ratings: Mortal Kombat Review- First Class (60 percent out of 100).
