Ronit Bose Roy aka SP Prithvi Singh IPS has back again to lead in Hostages season 2 which released on Disney Hotstar+ on September 9. The second season of Hostages consists of 12 episodes with a runtime in between 35 to 40 minutes. The overall runtime of Hostages 2 is around 6 hours 40 minutes.
Hostages 2 is nothing new and the story has been interlinked with the first season. There are lot of twist and turns in this season, which keep you at the edge of your seat. The last few episodes seems to be a bit slow and it will make you tired. The makers couldn’t able to keep the pace firm from start to end of this series.
Though, Hostages star cast are brilliant and they have given all their efforts, still the show let you down with too many confusing sub plots. It was good to see Dino Morea after a long time facing the camera lenses in a negative shade role. The star cast also includes Divya Dutta as Ayesha Khan, Shibani Dandekar as Isha Andrews, Shweta Basu Prasad as Shikha Pandey, Dalip Tahil, and many others.
Directed by Sudhir Mishra, this show screenplay and dialogue written by Nisarg Mehta. The cinematography has been taken care by Sachin Mamta Krishn, who did a good job in few of the excellent shots.
By looking at the show, each episode much have cost around 1 to 2 crores. That means, minimum if we can understand than the budget of Hostages season 2 will be reportedly around 16 to 18 crores. The makers must have sold this show on a good return from OTT platform like Disney Hotstar+
Hostages 2 has reviewed by critics and it has been rated in a range between 2.5 to 3 stars out of 5. That means, Hostages 2 is a one time watch despite its lengthy timing. The early audience response is very good and in that case, Hostages 2 will also be a big hit like its first season.
Altogether, Hostages 2 does give adrenaline rush after watching the series. Despite its confused plot at some extent, you will definitely get a lot good to see.
Last word: definitely watch it for Ronit Roy and Divya Dutta. Watch it if you have loved the season 1 of Hostages.
