Chris Hemsworth’s Extraction Movie Review And Ending Explained

Chris Hemsworth, our very own Thor, is again back in action with Extraction after the superheroes film Avengers: End Game. He essayed the role of Tyler rake who got a mission to save the life of a 14-year-old kid, son of a Indian drug mafia, who is abducted in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Ilo Ilo Movie Review: This 2013 Singaporean drama Is Answer To Hollywood’s ROMA

The story is very simple and there is nothing new to it, we have seen it several times before. What good about the film is the direction by Sam Hargrave, who worked as a stunt directors in Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Endgame. His direction is top notch, especially during action sequences. The movie is low on fun element and that can be visible throughout. The film looks raw and real and that’s what makes it compelling.

Extraction-Review-Ending-Explained

If you have digested Keanu Reeves starrer John Wick 1, 2 and 3, that this is definitely a film for you. Don’t look for emotions in this film, it is just a single man handling the whole Bangladesh’s army (yes, just like Hindi film Baaghi 3). In Baaghi 3, Tiger Shroff wants to save his brother from Syrian army and here Tyler does the same.

I am surprised to see that Randeep Hooda, a former Para (Special Forces) operator, got a meaty role in this film and delivered efficiently. The kid Rudhraksh Jaiswal as Ovi Mahajan has performed better than some age-old actors. Pankaj Tripathi was just like a miss and go role here. Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani as Nik Khan gives a run for the money in the end. Spoiler alert, the way Nik killed the Bangladesh’s kidnapping kingpin Priyanshu Painyuli as Amir Asif, proves that she is much more dangerous than Chris and Randeep.

Ending explained: In the end we see that, Tyler has been shot on his neck before he submerged into river. Soon, Amir is killed by Tyler team mate Nik. The movie fast forward- 8 months later. Where the kid just took a dip in swimming pool and when he shows up, there is a man standing there staring at this kid. The picture is blur and soon the credit rolls. So far, it looks like Tyler is alive, as we know that he can hold his breath inside the water in the introductory scene of this film. So, there are big chances of a possible sequel to Extraction and we couldn’t wait for it!

Extraction-2

Many wouldn’t love this Extraction but I completely related to each and every scenes in this film, especially during long car chases and fights inside the houses in Dhaka. The editing is crisp and the cinematography is top notch. The sound mixing is better to give much needed adrenaline rush to audience. The screenplay by Joe Russo is up to the mark, if not too good.

Altogether, Extraction has nothing new to give to us but still it has everything for a action film lover. Watch it as it is made with a whooping budget of US $ 65 million (496 crores).

Ratings: 80% (Brilliant)/ 100.
