Bombay High Court Refused To Stay The Release Of Upcoming Film Mission Mangal

A US Based film director Rekha Bharadwaj has filed a case against the makers of Mission Mangal over copyright infringement in 2018. Recently, the case has been heard, where she filed a petition to put a stay on the release of Mission Mangal, but the court didn’t agreed with her statement and gave a green signal to the release of the film.

As per Rekh Bharadwaj, Mission Mangal is her story and she has told about it to Vidya Balan, who later shared it to R Balki and this is what led to make the film. She claimed that she was making Space Moms movie based on this subject but now no buyers is taking  her film due to Mission Mangal. She demanded a compensation of Rs. 90 lakh from the makers.

When the case has been heard on the court, She failed to bring the  script of her film. She even failed to give the similarity between her film and Mission Mangal teaser and trailer. Due to which, the court has refused to put a stay on Mission Mangal as her allegations seems baseless or without proof.

Interestingly, Mission Mangal has been passed with  U certificate with 2 hours 13 minutes screen time.

Directed by Jagan Shakti, Mission Mangal is based on the  Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) Mars Orbiter Mission, aka Mangalyaan, which was launched in 2013. This film stars Vidya Balan along with Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Kulhari and Nithya Menen. The film is set to clash with Batla House on Independence Day.
