The story of this webseries talks about Pooja Bhatt aka Rani who works at a higher position at a private bank in Mumbai. She is a successful businesswoman and has her own share of troubles. On the other hand, Rani hired Shahana Goswami aka Fatima at her bank more like her consultant. The third lady in the story is Amruta Subhash aka Lily who works as a prostitute but now want to lead a decent life for his only child. There is the fourth woman in the story who is Plabita Borthakur aka Ayesha who just joined the bank and having a time time to find a rented room in Mumbai. Well, the fifth protagonist in the story is Rani’s step daughter Aadhya Anand who is just 12 and she is fascinated to be a grown up girl soon. How all five women lives are interconnected and twisted is what the story follows.

This film also stars Rahul Bose, Imaad Shah, Vivek Gomber, Danish Husain, Nauheed Cyrusi. Bombay Begums webseries has been written and directed by Alankrita Shrivastava.

Bollywood Crazies Opinion: Well, this is the most honest portrayal of a working woman living in a dream city Mumbai, told with mirror like clarity by Alankrita. Well, if you see all the five female protagonists, than they have some or other problems related to men. They seems to more like betrayed by men at different walks of life. They have crossed the borders of marriage or relationships and get entangled with other men in their life. Well, you will not like what these women have done in this webseries. Still, one common thing why these women get into other relationships is to seek happiness or just to get the comfort that they couldn’t get at their home. In the whole series, you can see all these women at the end wanting love in return but what they get is tears. So they decided just to liberate themselves and stand against the men who used them in some or other way. So, Alankrita did touched those strings that other makers dare to touch. Just like she did in Lipstick Under My Burkha or Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare. I am surprised to see Pooja Bhatt in her Rani character, she played it like a queen. Well, all lead women did their best but I became a fan of Pooja Bhatt’s performance without a doubt.

The budget of Bombay Begums hasn’t been known yet but it would be reportedly in over 12-15 crores.

Altogether, Bombay Begums may not be liked by many but still it has been made very well.

Last word: Watch it for Alankrita’a writing and direction. Also watch it for Pooja Bhatt and other 4 female protagonists.

Bollywood Crazies Ratings: Bombay Begums Review- Brilliant (80 Percent out of 100).
