Batla House Review: John Abraham Gave Another A-Class Performance After RAW

When it comes to balance the patriotic stories in a commercial way, Akshay Kumar is the leading man in this. But in last two years, we have seen John Abrahim doing the same thing with his films like Parmanu, Satyameva Jayate and Romeo Akbar Walter. And, now he has released his latest Batla House.

Starcast: John Abraham, Mrunal Thakur, Ravi Kishan and Nora Fatehi.

Story And Dialogues: The story is based on the infamous Batla House encounter that occurred in 2008. It was one of those encounters, where Police department has been targeted not only by the politicians but also by media. This kind of stories are not only interesting but also discuss about many important things that we don’t know in detail. The dialouges in this movie are very less but it goes with the film. The writing is brilliant and there has been lot of research done on the story. The court room scene for last 25 minutes are the strong point of this film.

Production: The production design of the film is very good. The characterization and the locations were looking apt for the scenes. The character actors in this movie also gave strong performance, that is noticable. All we can say is, the film is high on production value.

Music, Editing, Cinematography, Screenplay:

There are four songs in the movie but you won’t remember them for long time. The editing work is clap-worthy along with the screenplay. There are some moment in the film where  you feel that the story is getting slow or boring due to some editing issues.  Few scenes could have been chopped from  the film as its runtime is 2 hours 26 minutes. The scene about the firing in the Batla House has been filmed brilliantly.

Direction:

Nikhil Advani shines in direction, who earlier helmed movies like Kal Ho Na Ho and later D Day. He has researched the story very well which gives depthness to the film.

Ratings: 80 Percent out of 100 marks.
